Our carbohydrate-electrolyte shake helps to maintain endurance performance during prolonged exercise. Water transports nutrients and helps control your body temperature. During physical exercise your body temperature starts to rise above the normal temperature which results in dilated blood vessels, causing blood to flow close to the surface of your body and release some heat under the form of sweat. The body consists of 60% water and with a water loss of 3% of the total body weight, blood volume decreases and exercise performance deteriorates. Dehydration during your workout can lead to reduced sports performance, muscle cramps, stomach and intestinal complaints and fatigue. With a workout of at least 1 hour, it is important to prevent dehydration. Water is an excellent source of calcium, magnesium and potassium. We advise an intake of 500ml isotonic per hour of sports performance.
