3. 80/20 rule
80% of your training should always be at an easy pace. Roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
4. Training zones
Many websites provide a mathematic solution to calculate training zones. But only a lactate test can really determine in which training zones you need to train to outperform yourself.
5. Get to know your body
Listen to your body! If you feel sick or tired and you have an intensive training, just go ahead and skip the training or do a short/easy session.
